Spread out on the grass and bring a picnic to Bloom WNC specialty cut flower farm, from 6 -8 p.m., Friday June 25, and enjoy an evening of bluegrass with Trifecta.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased on the Bloom WNC website.

Trifecta features Nick Dauphinais on guitar and mandolin, Jon Boerger on mandolin and guitar and Celia Millington-Wyckoff on bass.

Dauphinais is a member of the Larry Stephenson Band, and performs widely in the Western North Carolina area when he's not on tour. He also juggles a number of students and runs his own recording studio. His distinctive tenor voice sounds perfectly at home among the flowers and mountains.

Boerger, who was born and raised in Wisconsin, has lived in central North Carolina for the past 16 years. He started playing mandolin when he was 10 years old, and studied with the late Herb Lambert of the Blue River Boys, a noted central North Carolina bluegrass band from the 1970s. Boerger has performed through the years with his family band, Three Mile Creek.

Millington-Wyckoff retired to Asheville from central Pennsylvania with her husband Wayne in 2014. She has played bass in old-time and bluegrass music bands on and off since 1972, and is a fixture in the Asheville-area bluegrass jam and gig scene. She is the “glue that holds Trifecta together.”

Singer-songwriter Zach Briggs will open the show.

Music begins at 6 p.m., but concertgoers are asked to arrive by 5:45 p.m. to secure parking and settle in for a fun night. Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged. Tickets are non-refundable, however, a rainy day alternative date will be scheduled if there is inclement weather the day of the concert.

In case of a rain, emails will be sent with a rescheduled concert. Bring chairs and your own refreshments, a hat (shade is limited), and bug spray.

This is the third in a series of evening concerts on the farm with talented bluegrass musicians. More concerts are scheduled throughout the season.

The next Bloom concert is Friday, July 23 with Anya Hinkle featuring Billy Cardine and Mary Lucey. Tickets can be purchased through the events page at Bloom WNC’s website.
