Local vendors will fill the shaded parking lot of the Monte Vista Hotel from 3 - 9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 10 and from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, as the Black Mountain Beautification Committee hosts its first fall garden sale.

The two-day event will feature fall landscape materials and include a raffle to raise funds for the volunteer-led nonprofit organization.

Established in 2000, the BMBC is supported in its mission to honor the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains through its various projects throughout the community by more than 60 volunteers. The garden sale, which raises money supporting the committee’s Seed Money grant, was a spring event for 14 years until it was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19.

Vendors, including Mellie Mac’s Garden Shack, Appalachian Creek Nursery, Spriggly’s Beescaping and more, will sell trees, shrubs, perennials and native plants. The BMBC booth will take pre-orders for holiday greenery and t-shirts supporting the organization will be available for purchase.
